How to cite and reference our articles

How to cite and reference articles from the European Journal of Counselling Theory, Research and Practice
Introduction

The European Journal of Counselling Theory, Research and Practice is an online journal and the articles are uploaded once they are ready for publication. Therefore we use volume numbers and article numbers but not issues numbers. This numbering system simplifies the publication process. Although each article has its own allocated page numbers, they run from page 1 onwards and not consecutively which would be standard practice in an issue of a print journal.

For an APA referencing style these article page numbers can be included although for some referencing styles they are unnecessary. For citations of direct quotes in a text, then the page number should be used as shown in the article.
